We have 16 single bedrooms and 6 of them with en-suite facilities. Residents are always encouraged to make the rooms their own and personalise their private space.
The comfortable communal areas and facilities are located over three floors, with lift/wheelchair access to most floors. Residents often utilise the communal areas for therapeutic and leisure activities. The large communal dining room is regularly used for group meals, meetings and activities.
Rose House residents are supported by a specialist team of care and support workers who help them to develop independent living skills. The focus is to support residents to be confident with living away from family and friends. There is a large back garden which is a popular place with the residents who are encouraged to help tend to it if they want to and are welcome to relax and take part in outdoor activities too. Much of the fruit and vegetables grown in the garden’s raised beds are used in meals prepared at the home.
Rose House has its own wheelchair-accessible minibus, both to enable residents to access destinations to which public transport is not easily available and for day trips or outings. For longer trips and holidays, our staff can ensure continuity of care by supporting residents while they are away.
The home is in Gillingham, a busy multi-cultural area with a range of theatres, museums, shops, cinemas, cafes and parks. The High Street also has a thriving market on Mondays and Saturdays. There are easy access transport links to London and excellent leisure facilities including the riverside. The Strand Leisure Park, with its crazy golf course, mini railway and classic open-air swimming pool is somewhere the residents often spend time.
